Where We Are

El complejo agroindustrial de Oliovita se construyó a los pies de los Andes sobre 2100 hectáreas. Ubicado en el departamenteo de 25 de Mayo, en la provincia de San Juan, contamos allí con instalaciones que cubren 4.220 m2 entre viveros, la planta elaboradora y la de envasado.

Each fruit has a characteristic that makes it unique and special. We propose you to discover the maximum expressions of flavor, combining the oils with every kind of food. We invite you to create and cook with audacity and thus you will know the wonderful World of extra virgin olive oil.

Tips

  • Exposure to oxygen generates a defect called rancidness that affects its quality. That is why it is important to close it correctly every time that we finish using it.
  • Olive oil is the only oil that is obtained from fruit and is extracted without solvents or chemical substances. It is a true fruit juice!
  • The optimum preservation temperature of olive oil is between 15°C and 18°C. Below 9 degrees, it may start to crystalize, without affecting the quality of the product.
  • The best way to preserve the flavor and benefits of olive oil is to keep it in its original package.
  • Once open, consume the oil before 20 days, thus preserving the natural expression of the fruit.
  • In order to maintain extra virgin olive oil in a good state of conservation, we recommend you to put it in cool, dry places away from light and heat.
  • The color of the oil has no impact on quality.
  • Black and green types oil are the same; the color is different according to the maturity degree.

How to taste olive oil

Put the oil in a little glass and turn it gently on the palm of your hand to release all its scents.

Inhale briefly and then deeply to capture the different scents.

Take a small amount of oil trying to keep it in front of your mouth, between your upper lip and your teeth tightly closed.

First inhale delicately and then vigorously until vaporizing the oral cavity in which taste buds are.

Exhale from your nose in such a way that vaporized oil particles can reach your nasal membrane providing even more accurate sensations.

What must we appreciate?

  • Fruity: It is the set of direct or retronasal olfactory sensations. We discover scents of herbs, freshly cut grass, artichoke, almonds or apple.
  • Bitter: We feel it at the sides of your tongue.
  • Spicy: It is the tactile sensation of burning.

In order to maintain extra virgin olive oil in a good state of conservation, we recommend you to put it in cool, dry places away from light and heat.

HEALTH AND WELFARE

  • Olive oil is the only edible oil of massive use that comes from a fruit.
  • The excellence of its flavor and its healthy properties -such as the high content of polyphenols with antioxidant capacity that lower cholesterol- depends on a rough and delicate care of raw material.
  • It mainly provides oleic acid, a mono-unsaturated fatty acid that reduces bad cholesterol in blood (LDL – Low-density lipoprotein), and simultaneously increases good cholesterol (HDL – High-density lipoprotein).
  • It contains fatty acids of the omega 9 family and has been named as the “healthy fat”
  • It is rich in polyphenols with high antioxidant capacity
  • It is a natural vitamin E source.
